Terms of Service

1. Scope

Shadow Seneschal ("the Bot") is a private Discord bot that operates exclusively within a single Discord server ("The Sanctuary"). It is not available for public use or invitation to other servers.

2. Acceptance

By being a member of The Sanctuary server where the Bot operates, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may leave the server at any time.

3. What the Bot Does

The Bot provides the following services within The Sanctuary:

• Moderation — Ban, kick, timeout, warn, and jail commands executed by server staff.
• Automod — Automatic deletion of messages containing blacklisted words, with strike tracking.
• Welcome & Farewell — Sends welcome/farewell messages in designated channels and DMs to joining/leaving members.
• Polls — Reaction-based polls created by staff in a designated channel.
• Reaction Roles — Self-assignable roles via message reactions.
• Server Stats — Displays server statistics to members and via a private API.

4. User Conduct

By participating in The Sanctuary, you agree to:

• Follow all server rules as communicated by staff.
• Not attempt to bypass the automod system.
• Not abuse bot commands or spam interactions.
• Accept moderation actions taken by staff using the Bot.

5. Moderation Actions

Staff may use the Bot to issue warnings, timeouts, jail restrictions, kicks, or bans. These actions are at the discretion of server staff. The Bot will attempt to notify you via DM when a moderation action is taken against you.

6. Data

The Bot stores minimal data required for its operation. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Availability

The Bot is provided as-is with no guarantee of uptime or availability. Features may be added, modified, or removed at any time without notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Bot and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the Bot, moderation actions taken, or loss of access to the server.

9. Changes

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued participation in The Sanctuary after changes constitutes acceptance.
